Xenia

Water conditions 

• Maintain good water quality with regular water changes
• Add iodine and other trace elements to the water
• Maintain calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels
• Keep nitrate levels below 10 ppm and phosphate levels below 0.10 ppm

Lighting

• Xenia can tolerate low to medium light, but they may elongate in dimly lit aquariums 

• If you have intense lighting, start the corals in lower light areas 

Water flow 

• Xenia prefer moderate water flow, but can tolerate a wide range

• Strong water flow may cause them to detach from their substrate

• Gentle and indirect flow patterns help them maintain their pulsing motion

Placement 

• Place them in a stable position within the reef tank

• Avoid placing them near aggressive corals

• Give them enough space to expand their polyps

Maintenance 

• Prune them with large tweezers or forceps to keep them from overgrowing
